Puerto Gallera

So, we are here and thoroughly enjoying our first day of relaxation.  The transportation wasn't as bad as we anticipated.  Our first flight was interesting though.  There was a woman sitting next to us that was laughing/cackling out loud the whole flight...loudly enough that the whole 15 rows was turning around and looking at her.  She had a fake, plastic rose that she sang to and tapped every minute or so.  She was creating such a scene that the flight attendant asked us what was wrong with her and whether or not we wanted a different seat.  I wish we would have gotten a video of her behavior, because words just can't capture exactly our experience!

Once in Manilla, we got a few hours of sleep in a 24 story building (on the 24th floor).  We learned on our taxi ride from the airport that the lines painted on the road are just a guideline.  Drivers are free to drive wherever they so choose.  It was quite amazing to see the poverty in Manilla.  There were literally shacks leaned up around the hotel that we stayed at.  On our drive to the shore, we saw their version of Wal-Mart...called Walter Mart!  :)

More to come when we are able to function on a few more hours of sleep!
